For Your Consideration [25 Nov 2006|02:09pm]

I saw it the day it came out in wide release (Wednesday), I didn't think it was as good as his others, but OMG Catherine O'Hara's face at the end was just... indescribable. So funny. But I still like A Mighty Wind the best. I probably need to see it again and I'll like it more, but it kind of let me down. Thoughts?

For Your Consideration - London Film Festival [29 Oct 2006|10:24pm]

I was in London for the week, and couldn't resist waiting at the cinema when I heard the whole crew from For Your Consideration would be there :)

Thought you might like to see what Mr Guest looked like that day! I met the cast and thought they were all pretty amazing. I've waited for YEARS so meet these guys.

The Guest!Collapse )

These are just samples - I've got larger pics of Christopher, Michael McKean, Harry Shearer etc here at my journal. Enjoy!

[ mood | ecstatic ]

Hi Everyone! I am ecstatic to have found my ideal community -- I am obsessed with anything and everything Christopher Guest&Co! If I had to pick a favorite Christopher Guest&Co. film, I'd choose Best in Show, the first film my husband and I saw together.

Btw, has anyone read Best in Show: The Films of Christopher Guest and Company? I'll definitely be reading it when I'm done with my current book -- if I can wait! I've located a transcript of A Mighty Wind but can't find ones of Best in Show and Waiting for Guffman. I'm thinking of transcribing them myself at some point.

I look forward to reading and contributing here!

Some "For Your Consideration" News [02 Aug 2006|08:56pm]

Hello all,

I figured that you would appreciate a few tidbits on Christopher Guest's upcoming film "For Your Consideration"
which features the usual friends of Guest, as well as The Office UK's Ricky Gervais.

I wrote a brief preview of "For Your Consideration" here: http://bigscreenlittlescreen.net/2006/06/26/preview-christopher-guests-for-your-consideration

And a bit on the Mighty Fred Willard, and his role in Guest's films here: http://bigscreenlittlescreen.net/2006/07/26/improvise-with-fred-willard

Thanks for checking them out!

Hi, I have just recently watched Best in Show and would love to find a transcript of the movie. I've googled, but been unable to find it anywhere. I'm especially interested in one of the deleted scenes where Harlan talks about the Indian Arrowheads.

Thanks to anyone that can help!

New Here [16 Mar 2006|10:13pm]

[ mood | creative ]

Hi, My name is Erin and I love christopher guest films. My favorite, of course, Waiting For Guffma. My favorite Chris Guest movie quote would either be "Well, then, I just HATE you... and I hate your... ass... FACE!" or "I'll tell you why I can't put up with you people. Because you're bastard people." That whole movie is gold.

Er... hello [29 Sep 2005|09:27pm]

[ mood | dorky ]

Hey there. I'm a girl who is really rather obsessed with A Mighty Wind, specifically Mitch and Mickey. I've seen Best in Show and Spinal Tap too and am quite attached to those in their ways.

Anywhoo, I'm so happy to find another bunch of people who share my love for Guest and the mockumentaries.

"Pick It." [19 Jul 2005|01:58am]

My dad told me that he had heard about an upcoming project with Guest and Co.

He said it was about them being the parents of little league players.

I can only hope that this rumor is true.

When he told me this, I nearly shatmyself.

Anybody know anymore?

As revealed exclusively on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross in the UK, Ricky Gervais' proposed appearance in the upcoming M:I3 will join his other "thanks but no thanks" appearances in Pirates of the Caribbean 2 and 3, the Magnum PI movie and the proposed remake of the Dudley Moore "classic" 10.

His reasons being that he thought the role was getting "too big" for him to handle (refreshing to hear that sort of honesty isn't it?) and that it was "sort of dramatic" and, following his appearance in Alias, he hates doing 'drama' as he isn't very good at it.

Instead Ricky Gervais will... get this for coolness... be taking a role alongside 'The Christopher Guest Players' in Guest's upcoming film For Your Consideration. How brilliant? The man who took the mockumentary made famous by Guest and co and ran with it to new heights of success is starring in what is said to be the master of the sub-genre's last 'mockumentary' feature.

Details of the project are said to be closely guarded but rumour has it, it will involve a documentary crew following an actor and his "entourage" from the point of completing a movie right up to his campaigning to win an Academy Award for said role, despite the fact that it wasn't a worthy performance.

Info concerning relatives of Guest regulars [21 Jun 2005|11:33pm]

I'm trying to get the word out: Mary Margaret O'Hara and Alexis O'Hara will be performing in July in Toronto.  I know Marcus will be there, but I am not sure about Catherine or Eugene.  But, if you at least want to see Mary (she's Cath's older sister and was in The Last Polka) and Lex (she's Cath's niece), the go see them!!!  This could be the opportunity to meet some Guest regulars.

WHA' HAPPENED? [20 Jun 2005|10:48pm]

Hi, I'm new (obviously), and I want to be Christopher Guest when I grow up. Except, you know, a girl.

I'm just glad I'm finally somewhere where people will understand and appreciate my user icon.
